Aquatic Bodywork: Warm Water Therapy Sessions

AQUATIC BODYWORK

A session consists on therapeutic  intervention that  combines movement and stillness.

Using elements of massage, stretching, mindfulness, exercises, and somatic approach, in water heated to 32–35 °C ( body temperature).

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Let's go with the flow

You will be held, supported and in close physical contact with the therapist.

You will be willing to let me move your body  while being in the water.
For some people, this type of closeness might feel too intimate and uncomfortable.

Your ears will be immersed in the water most of the time and your face on the surface of the water.

Feel free to share your concerns so I will make adaptations accordingly.

Feel free to share your concerns so I will make adaptations accordingly.

Sessions are always different.

There might be times for floating on apparent stillness, but they can also be a very dinamic dance or combination of both.

Some people will be willing to inmerse under the water  as part of their session

It is aimed to be a relaxing and therapeutic approach. IT IS NOT intended to be a sexual experience

Example

Free from gravity. Free from thought
Freedom for the body...

Why is warm water therapy different from a massage on a treatment table?

Buoyancy versus gravity

Buoyancy

Reduces body weight by up to 90% in deeper water, taking pressure off  joints and  supporting easier, pain-free movement.

 Hydrostatic Pressure

Gentle, even pressure of water  improve circulation, reduce swelling and provides a feeling of stability and security.

 Warm Water

At body temperature, helps relax muscles, ease tension and free movement and encourage deep physical and mental relaxation.
