What makes Aquatic bodywork unique
Allow your body to release tension, your mind to slow down, and your nervous system to recalibrate

AQUATIC BODYWORK is suitable for all ages and abilities, promoting  ABILITY AND CAPABILITY, social inclusion, equality and diversity.

NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. You do not have to be a swimmer to take part and benefit from water based bodywork.

WATER IS AT CHEST LEVEL providing a safe environment for correct body support either lying on your back or standing position, Depending on the venue, the depth of the pool varies from 90 to 140cm.

Aquatic Bodywork has been shown to help overcome deeply rooted fears of water by carefully guiding into a safe environment.

The warm, supportive environment of water helps regulating the Autonomic Nervous system, to calm body and mind.

By stepping into the pool, you switch from gravity to buoyancy, offering a low-impact environment for active and passive movement, restoring range of motion and reducing swelling after surgeries, especially joint replacements. This makes it ideal as part of Rehabilitation, Injury and post-surgery recovery.

Hydrostatic pressure stimulates blood and lymph flow, improving overall circulation and detoxification helping with bloating and swelling.

With Halliwick®,   games, toys, songs, and different playful activities can be used to learn swimming and familiarise with pool environment.

You can bring your own swim shirt or top, earplugs, flip-flops, towel, toiletries and a fabric swimming cap.

Aquatic bodywork and pregnancy

Aquatic bodywork offers gentle, effective support during the perinatal period, helping mothers  providing relief and relaxation.

Floating in warm water eases tension in the back, pelvis, and neck improving mobility and reducing pain.

It can be part of the wellbeing program and can include a range of activities delivered through pool based sessions which are designed to help establish the foundations for a secure attachment and bonding with parents or caregivers.

For infants, water-based sessions, also aids recovery from birthing and trauma related issues (transitioning from the fluid, to dry environment, dealing with the passage through the birth canal) for both mums and babies.

Let's go with the flow...

You will be held, supported and in close physical contact with the therapist. You will be willing to let me move your body  while being in the water.

For some people, this might feel uncomfortable. Feel free to share your concerns so I will make adaptations accordingly.

Sessions are always different. There might times for floating on apparent stillness, but they can also be a very dinamic dance or combination of both.

Your ears will be immersed in the water most of the time and your face on the surface of the water. If there an issue with this, just let me know.

It is aimed to be a relaxing and therapeutic approach. IT IS NOT intended to be a sexual experience
